(Also known as, the no fish fry!)
Everyone arrived safely on Thursday, with several making a stop on the way to check-out the Ice Castle in Eagle River. Chris, Kim, and Carol made a stop to pick-up 2 delicious pies from Norske's Nook. They were wonderful, and fortunately, had zero calories! After enjoying some very tasty chicken chili soup that Laurie made, we settled down for a few cocktails and lots of laughs while enjoying a warm fire in the fireplace, compliments of Henrik and Dave.
Friday was sunny, but a bit chilly to start. So, we all took our time heading out to the slopes. The skiing was excellent and the hill wasn't crowded. Thanks to Henrik, we had the use of the Wine Hut on the hill for a delicious lunch, expertly grilled by Henrik - with help and supervision by Betty.
After a lovely day of skiing, we decided to head over to the Caribou Lodge for a fish fry. Unfortunately, as we were getting ready to place our order, we were sadly informed, that they had run out of fish! Although we were bummed by not being able to enjoy a fish fry, we decided to stay for dinner. After dinner, we returned to our house and enjoyed more cocktails. And thanks to Betty and Dave, we enjoyed a spirited game of Bunco.
Saturday was another nice day for skiing with temperatures in the 20's and again, no crowds. The afternoon did bring some wind and snow squalls, so like true Sitzmarkers - - several headed to the bar for some adult beverages.
On Saturday night, we enjoyed our Club dinner of lasagna and meatballs, followed by another spirited game of Bunco. It was interesting, the big winners were Betty and Dave
Thanks to all for the wonderful food and desserts (Kim and Chris). Personally, I enjoyed the goodie bags of the brownies and cookies when I got home!
